Jersey Day 2

Today it rained off and on, but the sun was shining when I woke up so it put me in a good mood for the day. =). The island definitely has its pretty moments. Breakfast was really nice, you could see the kitchen from the little dining room and you could see the husband cooking the breakfast as the wife served it to us. It was an english breakfast which was an egg over-easy, sausage, bacon (they call it bacon but it was slices of ham), baked beans, and toast. It was very filling. There was one couple eating at the same time as me, and another couple with a daughter about 6. Everyone was nice. It was definitely a nice place to stay for 27 pounds a night.

After breakfast, I took a bus over to another part of the island to see what some of the other beaches looked like. It was a little cool to lay in the sun, and it was pretty cloudy though after like 10am. I got some nice pictures of the island in between the rain. I went over to a lavender farm right as it started to rain, so I went into the lavender farm’s cafe to wait for the rain to pass. Everyone seemed to have the same idea, it was busy, so I ended up sharing a little table with an English couple who was here for their daughter’s wedding. They said my accent sounded like I was from the South Island, and I didn’t know what that meant so they explained its an island off of England. They said it’s a soft accent, lol. Everyone at the lavender cafe was really friendly. I ordered lavender and strawberry cake, a scoop of lavender icecream, and lavender tea lol. The icecream was really good. All the streets around this farm smelled like lavender; it was so nice.=)

Then I took a bus back to this side of the island where I’m staying and continued on to the opposite side, but it wasn’t very nice so I just came right back to St. Helier. It just smelled like seaweed on that side, and I really hate seaweed.

Right now I’m sitting in a Mcdonalds because its the easiest way for me to get online! The Mcdonalds in Europe are really cool! They are so trendy here, colorful, contemporary designs and almost all of them have free wifi. I love the colors and seating. It’s very fun. I’m actually surprised that they have one here on Jersey. The sun is coming out, so I’ll try to run out to the beach=)
